Oven and range repair in Akron & Summit County, OH

Surface burner won't light, oven won't heat, temperature is off, broiler dead, control panel acting up, or self-clean tripped a thermal fuse and now nothing works? Gas or electric, freestanding range or built-in wall oven — we fix them in your kitchen.

Symptoms we see most

  • Oven won't heat (bake element, broil element, igniter, or sensor)
  • Temperature off by 50+ degrees (oven temperature sensor or control board)
  • Surface burner clicks but won't light (igniter or spark module)
  • Surface burner won't get hot (electric — radiant element, switch, or hot-surface igniter on coil)
  • Broiler not working but bake works (broil element or relay)
  • Self-clean ran and now nothing works (door lock, thermal fuse, or control board fried)
  • Control panel buttons unresponsive (touch glass or control board)
  • Gas smell when ignited (gas valve, regulator, or improper combustion — we shut it down and diagnose)

Brands and types we repair

Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, GE, GE Cafe, GE Profile, KitchenAid, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Bosch, Amana. Higher-end: Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Monogram, JennAir, Dacor. Freestanding ranges, slide-ins, drop-ins, double ovens, single and double wall ovens, gas, electric, dual-fuel, and induction cooktops.

What you pay

$89 flat diagnostic anywhere in Summit County, credited toward the repair. No charge if it isn't worth fixing.

A note on self-clean

Self-clean is the leading cause of oven failure in Akron. The cycle runs the cavity to 800°F+ for 3+ hours — most ovens aren't engineered to do that without something failing. The thermal fuse is usually the first to go (cheap fix), then the door lock motor, then the control board ($300+). If your oven is 8+ years old, don't run self-clean. If it just failed during self-clean, that's why we're getting your call.

Common questions

How much does oven repair cost in Akron?
Most oven and range repairs run $170–$390 all-in. Bake or broil element on an electric oven ($160–$240). Oven igniter on a gas oven ($200–$300). Surface burner igniter or switch ($150–$220). Oven temperature sensor ($170–$230). Control board ($300–$500) — usually only worth it on a high-end range or if the oven is under 6 years old.
Oven is heating but the temperature is way off. What is that?
Almost always the oven temperature sensor (a thin probe in the back of the oven cavity). Sometimes the control board, but the sensor is the first thing to check and the cheaper repair. We carry the common Whirlpool, GE, and Samsung sensors on the truck.
Surface burner clicks but does not light on a gas range. What is that?
Either the surface igniter for that burner is dead, or the spark module is failing. Most of the time it's a single igniter on a single burner — quick fix. If all four burners click and none light, that's the spark module or a gas supply issue.
Do you do gas line work?
We work on the gas valve, igniter, and supply tubing inside the appliance. The supply line from your house gas to the back of the range — that's a plumber. If we suspect a gas leak we shut the appliance valve, tell you, and recommend you call your utility's emergency line (Dominion Energy Ohio for Akron).
Built-in wall ovens and double ovens?
Yes. Built-in wall ovens, double wall ovens, and slide-in ranges are all the same parts list as their freestanding equivalents — just more involved to access. Pricing reflects the extra time. Wolf, Thermador, Viking built-ins also serviced; parts on those run longer lead times.
