Washer repair in Akron & Summit County, OH

Won't drain, won't spin, won't start, leaking water, banging across the floor, or showing an error code on the panel? We diagnose washing machines in your laundry room and finish most repairs the same visit.

Symptoms we see most

  • Won't drain (drain pump, hose clog, or coin trap)
  • Won't spin (lid switch, door lock, drive belt, or motor coupler)
  • Won't fill (water inlet valve, hose screens, or pressure switch)
  • Leaking from the front, bottom, or behind (door seal, pump, hose, or tub seal)
  • Loud banging during spin (shock absorbers, suspension rods, or unbalanced load sensor)
  • Won't start at all (lid lock, control board, or thermal fuse)
  • Error codes (LE, OE, UE, F-codes — we read what they actually mean, not what the internet says)
  • Smells musty (door seal mold, drain pump residue — cleaning + replacement)

Brands and types we repair

Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, GE, KitchenAid, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Bosch, Speed Queen, Amana. Top-load with agitator, top-load HE without agitator, front-load, stackable, and combo units. Most homes in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Stow have either a Whirlpool VMW top-loader or a Samsung/LG front-loader — we see both every day.

What you pay

$89 flat diagnostic anywhere in Summit County. The $89 is credited toward the repair if you book it. If the washer is past its useful life and isn't worth fixing, we tell you straight — no charge for the visit.

How long it takes

Diagnostic: 15–30 minutes. Most common washer repairs (pumps, switches, belts, shocks, valves): 45–90 minutes. Tub-out repairs (bearings, spider arm, drum) take 2–3 hours and are scheduled as a return visit.

Service area

Same-day in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Tallmadge, and Fairlawn. Outlying parts of Summit County usually next-day. Full service area.

Common questions

How much does washer repair cost in Akron?
Most washer repairs run $160–$340 all-in. Common jobs: drain pump ($180–$240), door lock or lid switch ($150–$220), shock absorbers on a front-loader ($220–$320), drive belt ($150–$200). Replacing a transmission or main bearing on a 7+ year old washer is usually where we tell you to replace the machine.
My washer won't drain. Is that always the pump?
Most of the time, yes — but check the drain hose first. A kink, a clog at the standpipe, or a sock that found its way past the drum can all stop drainage. If the pump runs and water still doesn't move, it's the pump or the impeller. We diagnose in 15 minutes.
Front-loader is shaking and walking across the laundry room. What is that?
Almost always shock absorbers (the cylinders that dampen the tub) or the suspension rods. On Samsung and LG front-loaders we see this around the 5-year mark. On older sets the spider arm behind the drum can also be the cause — that's a more involved repair.
Do you fix top-loaders without an agitator (HE washers)?
Yes. We see Whirlpool VMW (vertical modular washer) and Samsung high-efficiency top-loaders constantly in Summit County. Common issues: shift actuator, drive motor, lid lock, drain pump.
Stackable / combo units?
Yes — washer-dryer combos and stackable laundry centers, including the all-in-one Whirlpool/GE units common in Akron condos and apartments. Slightly more involved to access but the same parts as their standalone equivalents.
